Teq Teams With SMART Technologies to Create Software and Professional Development Solution for K-12 Classrooms Nationwide

Offerings Include Teq Unlimited With Teq Online Professional Development and SMART Technologies Software

HUNTINGTON, NY--(Marketwired - Apr 28, 2015) - Teq, a leading educational technology and professional development firm, today announced an agreement with SMART Technologies to distribute its Professional Development and educational technology software solutions to K-12 classrooms nationwide through select SMART reseller partners. A key component of the Teq/SMART classroom offerings is Teq Unlimited that provides students, teachers and administrators with unlimited access to SMART's Classroom Software with Teq Online PD, all managed with a single license, priced on a per student basis.

"With the ever-changing nature of educational technology, it is more important than ever for teachers to have access to the latest software and professional development that supports the fusion of technology and learning," said Chris Hickey, President of Teq. "With these new reseller partners, we are offering schools a convenient way to purchase the world's leading classroom collaboration software, SMART Notebook, and the award-winning SMART amp software as part of Teq Unlimited, along with our expert professional development."

"Teq is one of our most successful and experienced resellers in the U.S.," says Greg Estell, President, Solutions, SMART Technologies. "They've recognized that the powerful combination of our software suite with best-in-class professional development is the ideal way to unlock the true potential of SMART classroom solutions, enabling students to collaborate and learn in ways that are natural and intuitive."

With Teq's expanding channel partner program, SMART resellers will make Teq Online Professional Development (PD) and Teq Unlimited available to K-12 classrooms throughout North America. Teq Online PD courses are broadcast live and in person via the web, providing a format that allows educators to interact with the instructor, then review the recorded video at their own pace. The more than 50 courses, offered on a rotating basis, include: Google Apps for Education; using iPads in the classroom; and Microsoft 365.

"We are thrilled to offer Teq Online PD to teachers in Hawaii, as it provides schools with maximum flexibility for professional development while also give administrators the tools to monitor the status of a teacher's professional development," said Jennifer Lee, Vice President of the Audio Visual Company, a SMART reseller and systems integrator based in Hawaii that works with more than 300 schools. "As a SMART reseller, this is a natural extension of our educational technology offerings for schools."

Hickey added, "We have recruited more than 20 software sales specialists to create demand for Teq Unlimited and the SMART software products, and fulfil orders across North America through our channel partners."

Teq is the exclusive distributor of Teq Unlimited to K-12 schools nationwide. The solution includes the complete SMART Software Suite comprised of SMART Notebook 15 (equipped with an adaptive toolbar and activity builder), Notebook Advantage, and the SMART amp collaborative learning platform. Also included in the Teq Unlimited offering is a subscription to Teq Online PD, providing schools with over 75 one-hour online professional development sessions, accessible anytime, anywhere, from any device.
