TerraSpark Geosciences Launches Insight Earth® 1.4

Newest Version of TerraSpark's Flagship Solution Delivers Multiple Enhancements to Seismic Interpretation, Including Superior Imaging Capabilities, Faster Velocity Model Building and Improved Curvature Attributes That Deliver Added Depth and Clarity

HOUSTON, TX and BOULDER, CO--(Marketwire - September 2, 2010) -  TerraSpark® Geosciences LLC announced today the release of Insight Earth® 1.4, the newest and most technologically advanced version of TerraSpark's benchmark seismic interpretation solution. Insight Earth 1.4 strengthens TerraSpark's reputation for innovative science-driven leadership, offering improved capabilities in several key areas of interpretation.

Horizon Edge Stacking and Automated Fault Extraction™
Insight Earth 1.4's horizon edge stacking function, combined with major improvements to TerraSpark's patented Automated Fault Extraction process, significantly upgrades fault image quality and clarity through the use of higher resolution algorithms, and improves the S/N ratio of fault features, including lower angle faults.

New Curvature Attributes
Enhancements include mean curvature and azimuth, most positive curvature and azimuth, and most negative curvature and azimuth. These provide improved fracture zone identification, with added accuracy of overall fault interpretation.

Horizon Dip Compensation
In this release, virtually all processes within the interpretation workflow are now compensated for horizon dip -- an improvement that enhances image integrity of faults and other geobodies, with great reduction in blurring and smear effects inherent to all non-dip compensated processes.

Faster Velocity Modeling
A mesh-built mask volume feature improves and accelerates the salt body interpretation workflow via simultaneous interpretation of the top and base of salt bodies. This further enhances one of TerraSpark's key value elements, namely Insight Earth's ease of use and application speed beyond the first (initial) three-dimensional velocity model in which boundaries and surfaces are identified.

Insight Earth is widely recognized within the energy exploration and production market for its unique workflow and True Volume seismic interpretation process, wherein each step in the interpretation process informs and improves the next step, as opposed to conventional "one-slice-at-a-time" views inherent to most seismic interpretation solutions.
