TERVITA CEO NAMED ONE OF ALBERTA'S TOP 50 MOST INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - June 27, 2012) - Alberta Venture magazine has named Tervita Corporation president and chief executive officer John Gibson as one of Alberta's 50 "Most Influential People".

Alberta Venture recognizes every year 50 individuals in the province who have shaped public actions, views and opinions on important subject matter such as business, politics, education and the environment.

Gibson has championed an aggressive growth and diversification strategy since he joined Tervita in 2010. In March 2012, he led the unification of more than a dozen business units under the name Tervita to create a dynamic new brand committed to sustaining the life, health and energy of the planet by supporting responsible resource development.

Gibson has previously served as CEO of an enterprise software solutions company serving oil and gas industry clients and has held senior positions with the Halliburton Group of Companies, most recently as president of Halliburton's Energy Services Group. Gibson serves on the Board of Directors for Tervita Corporation, Orocobre Limited, Blue Spark Energy Inc., and I-Pulse Inc. He is a member of the University of Houston Energy Advisory Committee, the Houston Baptist University Board of Trustees, and is a director of the National KICKSTART Program. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Auburn University and a Master of Science from the University of Houston.

Mr. Werklund was also a recipient of this honour in 2006.
