Tesora Announces OpenStack Collaborations With Open Source Leaders, Red Hat and MongoDB

Collaborations Will Equip Red Hat and MongoDB Customers With the Power of Tesora's Database as a Service Platform for Building OpenStack Private Clouds

CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwired - May 8, 2014) - Tesora, developers of OpenStack enterprise-class, scalable database as a service (DBaaS) platform, today announced collaborations with Red Hat, the world's leading provider of open source solutions, and MongoDB, the leading provider of NoSQL technology, to collaborate on bringing the power and flexibility of the Trove database as a service platform to their customers implementing OpenStack such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform.

After launching the Red Hat OpenStack Cloud Infrastructure Partner Network just one year ago at the OpenStack Summit, Portland, Oregon, Red Hat and its partners now make up the world's largest commercial OpenStack partner ecosystem.

"We are pleased to have Tesora as an active partner in the Red Hat OpenStack Cloud Infrastructure Partner Network where we collaboratively test and certify the Trove database assuring customers a highly performant and supportable, enterprise class solution," said Mike Werner, Senior Director of Global Technology Partner Programs at Red Hat. "Extending the Trove database as a service platform for Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform, provides a flexible solution for customers implementing OpenStack-based solutions. We look forward to continued collaboration with Tesora as a key member of the Red Hat OpenStack ecosystem."

With the recent "Icehouse" release, OpenStack Trove is also expanding beyond MySQL to NoSQL. Trove now allows organizations to use the same environment to manage SQL and NoSQL databases. For organizations that want to better manage their corporate IT, being able to use the same DBaaS platform across departments offers a powerful advantage.

"We are excited to be partnering with Tesora as they build up the capability of Trove to include MongoDB," said Matt Asay, VP of Business Development and Marketing at MongoDB. "Some enterprises are looking for ways to better manage their MongoDB instances and Tesora can do this by supporting Trove, the DBaaS on OpenStack."

"Database as a service is a key component of any cloud platform and OpenStack is leading the way with the release of the Trove project in Icehouse," said Ken Rugg, CEO of Tesora. "We're thrilled that two giants in the open source community, see the value in bringing Trove to their customers."
