SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS--(Marketwire - April 4, 2011) - AssetWorks, a leading provider of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software solutions, announced today that it has signed a facilities management software and implementation services contract with Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAM HSC). After a competitive procurement process that included on-site demonstrations, client site visits as well as a full analysis of available software applications, TAM HSC selected AiM™ by AssetWorks as a turnkey facility management software solution.

TAM HSC is an institution of higher education with campuses in Bryan, College Station, Temple, Dallas, Houston, McAllen, Kingsville, Round Rock, and Corpus Christi. TAM HSC's intent is to procure and implement an enterprise-wide software system for facilities management or computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) at the Physical Plants at each major regional campus in order to improve and enhance the functionality, performance and reliability and allow for an enterprise-wide roll-up and reporting effort to be simplified.

The major goals for this software procurement are to:

  • Provide an enterprise system capable of organizing each location's facilities management information

  • Enhance TAM HSC's ability to respond to each facility's immediate needs from a central system

  • Provide a software built and designed to support a large and growing volume of equipment, systems, processes, and facility history

  • Provide a detailed billing and financial information reports for the entire asset pool and/or subsets of asset groups

  • Provide technical support to include on-site training and software maintenance for the life of the software

  • To import construction project data per the COBIE 2 format for initial CMMS population

Hyde Griffith, Vice President – BIM Services at Broaddus & Associates, assisted TAM HSC to qualify and review several proposed software solutions. Broaddus is the owner's representative and project manager for construction and data capture at TAM HSC. Mr. Griffith stated, "The Texas A&M Health Science Center selected AssetWorks because they offer an asset management system that is designed to support a growing volume of physical assets, provides detailed financial reporting, and supports the COBie 2 information exchange format for import of FM data and associated documents. The ability to quickly and consistently transfer asset information from locations spread across Texas into a central system was a key requirement in the decision process. Further, this process is cost effective for new construction projects and consolidation of existing assets into the enterprise solution platform. We are looking forward to a successful implementation."
