Texas Baseload Power Plant Faces Vote on Water Supply, an Industrial Info News Alert

SUGAR LAND, TX--(Marketwire - Jul 7, 2011) - Written by John Egan for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- The White Stallion Energy Center, a $2.5 billion, 1,320-megawatt (MW) solid-fuel power plant that is planned for construction about 90 miles southwest of Houston, moved one step closer to reality recently, when a local water supplier determined it had enough water to supply the power plant with cooling water. The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) (Austin, Texas) last month concluded that it had sufficient water resources to sell up to 25,400 acre-feet per year to White Stallion.
