LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - October 16, 2008) -, one of the fastest-growing and most innovative fantasy sports operators and developers for major brands and professional sports, today announced the winners of the 2008 Fantasy Baseball Championship. The top three finishers out of nearly 50,000 players...the largest baseball competition to date...were Alexander Zelvin (Monroe, N.J.) followed by the husband and wife duo of Diane and Jeff Suber of Frisco, Texas. It is the first time a woman has finished among the leaders for baseball, and the Subers combined to take home over $100,000 in prizes over the past two seasons, believed to be the largest haul for any one fantasy baseball household to date. The newlyweds have used their combined earnings to date to purchase a house.

"The success of the Subers is more proof that the fantasy space is becoming more and more about having fun and learning the nuances of the game, regardless of gender," said Kelly Perdew, CEO of "We at believe that the success of the fantasy space, both in the U.S. and abroad, will come from the diversity and simplicity of the ways you can play games, and we will continue to be among the innovators in providing a diverse and fun platform for all, women, couples, parents, and young adults, in any sport possible with the biggest partners. It is a very easy, very inexpensive way in these difficult times to combine watching and participating in sports in a virtual world."

The Dallas-area couple are no strangers to fantasy game success. Jeff won the inaugural fantasy baseball game in 2007, and then Diane placed fourth in the 2007 fantasy football contest in her first time playing the game.
