TexCom C.E.O. Lou Ross Interviewed on "New Captains of Industry" Radio Show

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - February 4, 2011) - TexCom, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: TEXC) today announced that its CEO Lou Ross appeared on the "New Captains of Industry," hosted by George R. Jarkesy, Jr., who is also a market commentator, institutional fund manager and Chairman of the National Eagles and Angels Association.

During the interview Ross delves into TexCom's work with disposing of NORM (Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material). Ross relates that NORM is "naturally occurring radium that's present in the minerals that are in the formation from which the oil and gas and saltwater are being produced" from exploration and production industry operations. Over the years, this NORM has deposited as a scale in tanks and pipes that and is a "sleeping dog" that has built up in equipment and producing oil and gas wells around the country. Ross said that "the entire oil and gas industry and the public have become acutely aware that this material is out there" as evidenced by a number of pending lawsuits that address known NORM accumulations that were not remediated. Ross further pointed out that what differentiates TexCom is that it is one of a handful of companies that is permitted to dispose of this radioactive waste by use of underground injection wells versus the alternative method of placing NORM into landfills. Ross stated that landfills are "not a good option" because they can leak over time into underground sources of drinking water. Lastly, the TexCom CEO stated that the American Petroleum Institute estimated in the mid 1990s that there were over 10 million barrels of this radioactive material encased in oilfield equipment, creating a potential market to clean up NORM that could be as much as $3 to $5 billion.
