TextGuard™ Announces Addition of IMGuard™ to Its Suite of Mobile Archiving Solutions

New Client Application Provides Customers With Ability to Monitor, Capture and Archive Instant Messages on the Mobile Device

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - November 9, 2010) - TextGuard, the leading provider of mobile communication archiving solutions, today announced its newest mobile archiving service, IMGuard™, which enables enterprises to monitor, capture and archive third-party IM (instant message) chats on the mobile device. With IMGuard, all mobile instant messages are identified, collected, and archived, allowing companies to achieve their compliance and risk management objectives while supporting their mobility initiatives. IMGuard's light-weight client application is installed directly on the mobile device, either over the air or pushed through a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, and can be operational within minutes. When an instant message is sent to or from the device, the IMGuard client makes an encrypted copy of the message and delivers it to TextGuard's message archive where it is stored.

IMGuard™ captures messages of major third-party instant messaging services such as AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), GoogleTalk, Yahoo! Messenger and Windows Live Messenger. Other instant messaging and chat applications will be supported soon. IMGuard™ is currently available for Blackberry devices, with support for other devices and operating systems coming soon.

"Regulations are now in place that require all electronic communications used for business purposes, including landline calls, email, SMS and instant messaging, to be captured and retained. The monitoring and archiving of third party instant messaging platforms on the mobile device is the next logical step in the regulatory process," explained Todd Cohan, Founder and CEO of TextGuard. "In addition, companies in non-regulated industries also want to understand the nature of its employees' communications of all types, including instant messaging," Cohan added.

IMGuard integrates seamlessly with TextGuard's other products, including its flagship TextGuard service, which monitors, captures and archives SMS, BlackBerry Messenger and BlackBerry PIN-to-PIN messages. All IMGuard messages are archived within and searchable using the same familiar user interface as TextGuard uses. Additionally, for those enterprises seeking to deploy both TextGuard and IMGuard, the device software is combined into a single, lightweight client application available for download.

Other key features of IMGuard include message thread rebuilding, which presents instant messages within conversations threads between users in chronological order (time and date stamped), advanced search capabilities (by keyword, phrase, date, internal/external, flagged, open, closed, reviewed, etc...) allowing for quick and efficient retrieval of messages, and monitoring & alert functions which flag specific keywords and phrases in order to closely monitor high-risk employees, and which allow a compliance administrator to be notified if a user has attempted to uninstall a client application.
