Thalmic Labs Launches Developer Program for Gesture Control Armband, MYO

A Selection of Developers Will Be the First to Interact With MYO

WATERLOO, ON--(Marketwired - Jul 3, 2013) - Thalmic Labs, the creators of the revolutionary gesture-control armband, MYO, announces the opening of the Thalmic Labs Developer Program. Developers from around the world are encouraged to share ideas for applications they will develop using MYO. As part of the program, developers will gain access to early documentation and APIs for MYO. A select group of developers will also receive pre-production devices as early as this summer.

"The uses for MYO are virtually endless," said Stephen Lake, CEO and co-founder of Thalmic Labs. "By opening this program up to developers and enabling them to build on top of MYO technology, we will ensure that MYO has a deep suite of software applications by the time the product reaches consumer hands."

Acceptance into the program will be based on a number of factors, including compatibility with early APIs and the details of the ideas submitted. The application form asks developers to showcase what they would like to build and describe why they're the ones to build it. Developers who have pre-ordered a MYO will be the first to be considered for pre-production devices.

Thalmic Labs announced MYO in February 2013 with the launch of a YouTube video. The video showcased potential uses of MYO in various settings including household, gaming, business, industrial and more. With the launch of Thalmic Labs' recent contest, #ifihadMYO, thousands of people have shared diverse uses of MYO for when it is available.

MYO is available for pre-order at http://www.thalmic.com/myo for $149.00. Developers can apply to the Developer Program through the online form at http://www.developer.thalmic.com/.
