Thanks to Kolombo and DDACE, Generatrice Drummond can now monitor its products remotely

QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 20, 2008) - Generatrice Drummond has gone one step further in ensuring top quality service to customers. Its generators are now equipped with a device manufactured by Kolombo for the remote monitoring of equipment and its proper operation on a continuous basis. The experience has been so conclusive that it is expected that other companies will follow suit across North America. The Kolombo system is distributed exclusively by Quebec-based DDACE.

A Kolombo application untapped to date

The trucking industry is quite familiar with the ability of the Kolombo system to track vehicles via GPS. However, this is the first time the system has been applied to monitor the proper operation of generators.

Kolombo offers the following real-time information: last maintenance operation, amount of time the generator has been in operation, whether it is functioning up to capacity and whether any repairs are required. Generatrice Drummond has fitted thirty large and small generators with the Kolombo Model TRS-5000R equipped with cellular communication.

According to Olivier Cote, Rental Manager at Generatrice Drummond, "Kolombo has made an important contribution to the quality of our customer service. The system meets all our requirements and allows us to maintain our equipment in top operating condition without necessitating the intervention of a technician. It provides an additional element of security for our customers."

Generatrice Drummond

Generatrice Drummond was founded forty years ago. The company distributes, rents and maintains Kohler, Kubota and Pramac generators and PTO Drummond alternators. The company recently added a line of Kohler (APU) auxiliary generators designed for the trucking industry.
