The 2007 MS Golf Challenge Raises $320,000

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - July 11, 2007) - On Monday, July 2, 2007, 86 golf enthusiasts set out to conquer the greens at the Club de golf Granby St-Paul and the Club de golf Chateau Bromont, on the occasion of the 12th edition of the MS Golf Challenge organized by the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Quebec Division. Their challenge: play 100 holes of golf in one day.

At 6:15 on Monday morning, the golfers were already teeing off and they played from morning to evening. Their efforts produced excellent results: they raised $320,000 for research and services to people with multiple sclerosis (MS) and their families.

Jocelyne Cazin, journalist at TVA, in her third year as spokesperson, was one of those who took part. She rose to the challenge, as did Richard de Carufel, President of the MUC Police COOP and honorary co-chair of the event. Mario Tessier, comedian and golf nut, was also present and performed the feat of playing 100 holes of golf during the day.

Since the first edition in 1996, the MS Golf Challenge has raised more than $1,700,000. The funds generated by this event go to the Quebec Division of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, an organization devoted to research to find a cure for MS and to improving the quality of life for people with this degenerative neurological disease-the most widespread among young adults-which affects from 13,000 to 18,000 people in Quebec alone.
