SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - Feb 20, 2013) - Wowzer, the easy-to-use video interviewing platform that enables higher quality and more personal interactions between candidates and recruiters, today announced that Adidas, one of the global leaders within the sporting goods industry, and The adidas Group, which offers a broad range of products across the Adidas brand -- Reebok, TaylorMade, Rockport and Reebok-CCM Hockey brands, are using the video recruiting tool to vet applicants before bringing them in for an in-person interview. Using Wowzer, The adidas Group has reduced time spent in the initial screening process, increased collaboration with recruiters and hiring managers, and used the extra time and money to ensure that they hire the top talent for open positions -- not just available talent.
Adidas began working with Wowzer in November 2011 when changing economic factors coupled with an international hiring push forced the multi-billion dollar sportswear company to rethink its screening process. Due to the influx of candidates applying for each position, Adidas' HR executives cited a laundry list of problems with traditional methods and wanted to make it easy for hiring managers to sort through the high volume of resumes and find the perfect candidate. Adidas -- always striving to be at the cutting edge of technology -- also wanted to balance the playing field between job seekers and recruiters and really give candidates a sense of what it would be like to work at Adidas.
"Our recruiters were inundated with resumes and it had essentially become difficult to select qualified candidates due to sheer volume," says Tauna Dean, Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition for the Americas, The adidas Group. "Although we wanted to make sure that our recruiters had the necessary tools to select the right candidate for the position, we also wanted the job seekers to have the best experience possible when interviewing with Adidas. We truly believe that Wowzer's video interviewing platform enhances the experience for both the recruiter and the interviewee."
Since Wowzer began working with the company, Adidas has streamlined its recruitment procedures: 140 candidates completed interviews in just 10 days. Adidas also reduced the total time spent on initial screening, citing that average screening times went from 50-75 minutes to 10-30 minutes each. Aside from saving time and money, recruiters also felt that they were able to bring better candidates to their hiring managers for the in-person interviews, increasing internal collaboration and satisfaction.
Wowzer's award-winning video interviewing platform allows HR teams to choose between recorded and live interviews that empower job candidates and employers to make more informed choices. With recorded videos of the hiring team asking questions, candidates can learn as much about a potential employer as the company learns about them and organizations can create more meaningful relationships with candidates even with a large number of applicants.
"Adidas came to us for two main reasons," says Imo Udom, co-founder and vice president of business development for Wowzer. "They wanted to streamline the hiring process with a fresh, innovative take on the traditional phone interview, and they also wanted a platform that could give potential new hires a better idea of the Adidas employee experience. I believe that they have had success using Wowzer because of the platform's easily customizable nature that allows each company to create the solution that works best for them. We are thrilled that Adidas has also made Wowzer available to the HR teams who are working under its other brands and look forward to offering our customers additional features in the future."
The Wowzer video recruitment platform is available in six languages, including English, Spanish, Japanese, Portuguese, French and German.
