The Ambit Group Appoints Tom Ragland as Corporate Development Officer

Homeland Security Veteran to Advance Company's Position Within DHS

RESTON, VA--(Marketwired - Aug 19, 2013) - The Ambit Group (Ambit) today announced the appointment of Thomas R. Ragland to the newly created position of Corporate Development Officer. Tom previously served as the Client Executive and Senior Vice President for Homeland Security at CACI, as well as a Homeland Security executive for Northrop Grumman IT, QinetiQ-NA and SAIC since retiring from the government. He was one of the initial leaders in the post 9/11 Office of Homeland Security under Secretary Tom Ridge from 2001-2003.

"As one of the most respected and innovative Homeland Security executives, Tom redefined industry's role in supporting the maturation of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) since its creation in 2003," said Kim Hayes, CEO and Co-founder, Ambit. "This appointment clearly highlights our full commitment to our role as an EAGLE II small business prime contractor. Tom will shape our business development strategies around this contract as well as deliver improved results for a broader set of government customers."

As Corporate Development Officer, Tom will work to advance Ambit's position as one of DHS' most trusted and valuable small business partners. He will work closely with DHS and interagency entities to provide rapid strategic assessments and cost efficient mission support operations. He will synergize business development within Ambit's leadership team, including working with industry partners to develop joint solutions, optimize mission support services and leverage agile delivery teams. Responsible for extending the company's brand across agencies, he will play a key role in the execution of Ambit's corporate strategy to deliver agile solutions and superior customer service, reducing government operating costs while increasing value.

Previously, Tom played a key role in several Homeland Security projects, including the build-out of the Information Analysis and Infrastructure Protection (IAIP) directorate, the Homeland Security Defense Network (HSDN) and the early initiation of OneNet -- the consolidation of DHS' wide area network.

"In the 2013 eco-political environment, it is important that mission services be viewed as an investment that is essential to mission success," said Ragland. "Ambit has consistently delivered results for its clients, even on some of the government's most challenging programs. The company is a leader in the IT community known for the successful adoption of rapid assessment and strategic planning. I am excited to join the team."

Tom has also supported the Association for Federal Information Resource Managers (AFFIRM), American Council of Technology-Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC), Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), TechAmerica and Wounded Warriors Foundation, contributing towards improved government/industry relations in homeland security.
