The Anita Borg Institute Launches Career Board for Women in Computing

New Career Board Debuts With 200 Jobs Posted From Eight Leading Technology Companies

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwired - Oct 4, 2013) - The Anita Borg Institute (ABI), a non-profit organization focused on the advancement of women in computing, today announced the launch of the ABI Career Board during it's annual Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing (GHC).

The ABI Career Board is a career site for women across the globe, beginning or continuing their careers in computing. At launch, the Career Board includes 200 jobs in computer science, information systems and engineering posted by eight leading technology companies. With its mission to connect, inspire, and guide women in computing, and working with its partners, companies who are focused on attracting and retaining top talent to fuel technology innovation, ABI is an ideal organization to bring job seekers together with employers.

"We are proud and excited to launch the ABI Career Board, which we see as an additional way to connect women technologists with opportunities at leading companies," said Jody Mahoney, Vice President of Corporate Partnerships at the Anita Borg Institute. "Launching this Career Board seems like a natural extension of our work and desire to guide women in computer science and engineering as they pursue not only their dream job, but a successful long-term career in technology."

The ABI Career Board announcement comes on the heels of the GHC Career Fair, the largest career fair for women in computing. The fair provides GHC attendees the opportunity to meet with leading multi-national companies, research laboratories, government agencies and universities. The Career Fair features great career opportunities from over 130 GHC sponsors.

The ABI Career Board is an online extension of the GHC Career Fair, connecting women technologists with key job and networking opportunities year round. The Career Board is currently available exclusively to ABI partner companies who can post job openings. Job-seeking women technologists can access the ABI Career Board through the ABI website.

The ABI Career Board is powered by VentureLoop, an ABI partner. ABI affiliates will have the opportunity to post jobs on the ABI career board at the conclusion of beta later this year.
