The Association of Quebec Women in Finance Honours Women of Excellence

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - April 15, 2008) - The Association of Quebec Women in Finance has honoured three of its members and two future professional members during its third annual Gala, hosted by actress Mireille Deyglun, and held on April 15, in Montreal, before more than 450 women in finance.

"The Association of Quebec Women in Finance's Gala is a unique opportunity to recognize and celebrate the excellence of women working in the area of finance. These women were able to distinguish themselves in jobs that are becoming increasingly complex," declared Mrs. Andree Corriveau, director of the IOSCO 2010 Conference, Autorite des marches financiers, Founding President of the AFFQ and Honorary President of the Gala.

Leadership Award

Mrs. Francoise Faverjon-Fortin, Vice-President, Infrastructure and Environment at Export Development Canada, distinguished herself in the area of finance and business and won the Leadership Award, presented by Mrs. Nathalie Bernier, Managing Partner at KPMG Montreal.

Social Involvement Award

The Social Involvement Award was presented to Mrs. Carolina Gallo-La Fleche, lawyer, partner and investor at Bodywash Care Inc., by Mrs. France Labelle, General Manager and co-founder of the Refuge des Jeunes de Montreal, for her exceptional community contribution and the advancement of the condition of women in Quebec.

AQWF Involvement Award

The AQWF Award was presented to Mrs. Nathalie Brault, partner with Groupe Pigeon Brault Syndics inc., by Mr. Andre R. Dorais, General Managing Partner of Andre R. Dorais avocats, for her involvement with the Association of Quebec Women in Finance's Membership Committee.

Future Professionals Awards

Finally, two "Future Professionals" Awards, in the form of paid trainings at Desjardins, were presented by Monique F. Leroux, President of the Desjardins Group, to Meggie Daoust, of Concordia University, and Mikoua Davidson, of the Universite du Quebec a Montreal, who distinguished themselves in their studies in the field of Finance.

Moreover, Mrs. Genevieve Bouthillier received a Roles and Responsibilities of Administrators training worth $2,950, generously offered by the College des administrateurs de societes.

About the Association

The Association of Quebec Women in Finance was created in May 2002 and is comprised of close to 300 Quebec women in finance. It organizes several networking, professional and business development activities each year and provides its members with a privileged access to a major worldwide network of women in finance, including the New York market.

The Association of Quebec Women in Finance's mission is to contribute to the national and international outreach of its members by fostering the development of business relationships and promoting the skills of its members throughout and outside Canada, by suggesting women to senior management positions and boards of administrators.
