The Avascent Group Joins the Homeland Security & Defense Business Council

WASHINGTON, DC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 3, 2007 -- The Avascent Group is pleased to announce that it has joined the Homeland Security & Defense Business Council, a group of senior industry representatives with a vested interest in safeguarding our nation.

"We are pleased and honored to join this distinguished group of leading providers in the homeland security sector," said Steve Irwin, president of The Avascent Group. The Homeland Security & Defense Business Council identifies and promotes strategies by which industry can contribute to critical homeland security missions across both the public and the private sectors in the US and abroad. The Council is an international membership organization comprising the senior executives of the users and suppliers of homeland security-related services, technologies, and products. The members are united in the common effort to find practical means to enhance our nation's preparedness and homeland security.

"Developing effective private sector strategies to meet critical homeland security challenges has been the core of our business and we look forward to contributing to the Council's important work in this area," Irwin added.

The Avascent Group leverages its extensive experience and expertise in analyzing rapidly changing homeland security markets to meet their clients' strategic and tactical business needs. Avascent's consultants have worked with industry leaders and specialized providers in the areas of border and transportation security, critical infrastructure protection, chemical/biological defense, and emergency preparedness and response.
