The Baby Show and Baby Parka™ Team Up in the Pursuit of a Guinness World Record

Safety In Numbers!

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Feb. 18, 2015) - The Baby Show and baby parkaare proud to announce they will be joining efforts in the first ever attempt to attain the Guinness World Record for the largest one-time car seat installation. This event, poignantly named Click for Car Seat Safety, will help kick off The Baby Show on Friday, March 27th at the Direct Energy Centre. The Baby Show itself opens its doors on March 28th and 29th.

Click for Car Seat Safety, sponsored by Canadian Tire and Graco® with media support from Oh Baby! Magazine and Impressions Public Relations, will take place over a four-hour period and will include a minimum of 250 car seat installations, more than 150 vehicles, 25 professional car seat installers and an estimated 150 families. With an intense focus on car seat safety, educating new and expectant parents in a family-friendly atmosphere, this first event of its kind is on track to put Toronto on the Guinness World Record Map!

"Results from safety checks across Canada reveal that between 70-80% of child car seats inspected are installed incorrectly," says Nick Eliades, founder of The Baby Show. "We believe hosting a Guinness World Record attempt is a unique way to raise the necessary awareness on the importance of proper car seat installation and safety."

Between the hours of 9:30am EST and 12:30pm EST, vehicles will be ushered into the Centre. Throughout the morning, participants will be able to have their car seats installed by professionals, attend a safety seminar and get their car seat safety questions answered. A variety of entertainment including prize raffles will keep the energy high leading up to the grand finale of the official Guinness World Record attempt!

"Car seat safety has always been a priority for us and our brand," says Paula Ling, co-founder of baby parka. "Many parents purchase car seats without understanding how to install them or ensure the correct use of the harness system. Parents are often unaware of proper positioning and of how tight this needs to be to keep a child harnessed and secured in the event of an accident. We're hoping to change that, one car seat at a time."
