The Bear Builders Launch New Fun-Raiser Program

Local Mom Takes Her Bear Business on the Road to Benefit Non-Profits

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 29, 2006 -- The Bear Builders (, a portable bear making workshop, announced today their new Fun-Raiser fundraiser program. The program will create an additional stream of income for Non-Profits at their events. The Organizations will receive the $175 set-up fee waived and receive 15% of the proceeds from the sale of every bear sold at the event. The new program will run now through March of 2007.

"My child has sold cookie dough, candy bars, wrapping paper, you name it; the cookie dough is still in my freezer, the candy melts, and the wrapping paper just is not pretty," said Chief Executive Bearologist Monique Allen. "Today there are so many Non-Profits competing for the same dollar, I wanted to introduce something fun, easy for the event host, and something everybody loves: a teddy bear or another favorite animal dressed to fit their lifestyles."

The Fun-Raiser program creates an experience of "Fun" for all involved. Attendees will have their choice of animal, get the chance to help stuff it, wish upon a star that goes inside, select clothing, and even get a carrier to take their new creation home. Each bear is approximately $38 with clothing; 15% goes to the Non-Profit, and the attendees have something fun to take home.

The Bear Builders was created in 2004 by Monique Allen, a single mother and returning law student. "I had a strong desire to do something that brought people joy and laughter and something that would help support my daughter, now 7. The Bear Pawties (parties) as we call them have added many smiles at Non-Profits and private children's parties as well in the past two years. We have a strong desire to help people not only create an experience but a friend."
