The BOSS Group to Host "GOOD by DESIGN," Pro Bono Design Day

Local Staffing Firm Gives Back to DC Area Non-Profits

BETHESDA, MD--(Marketwire - Sep 6, 2011) - The BOSS Group, a leading niche staffing provider for interactive, creative and marketing professionals, announces GOOD by DESIGN, a charity design day benefiting DC area non-profits. The BOSS Group will partner with The Art Institute of Washington, a learning institution that prepares students for careers in the visual and practical arts, to host the event, which will be held on November 6th, 2011 at The Art Institute's Arlington, VA campus. This 10-hour design-a-thon will provide much needed creative work to organizations in need.

The BOSS Group has been serving creatives in the Washington DC metro area for over 22 years, and developed a large web of community connections. "We are aware budget cuts and decreased donations have affected many organizations," says Kristen Ferrer, Event Coordinator and Marketing Manager. "We wanted to create a means of facilitating a collaborative union between our community and talent. We're pleased to introduce GOOD by DESIGN, an event that will connect local talent with local organizations in need of their services," continued Ferrer. The BOSS Group invites DC metro area non-profits to submit project applications and area professionals in the interactive, creative and marketing space to submit volunteer applications. Accepted projects will range from creating logos and brand identifying materials to building websites and social media pages. Talent applicants are not limited to previous or current BOSS Talent.

The BOSS Group will select and match volunteers with representatives from the non-profit organizations for the design-a-thon event based on volunteers' skill sets and the project parameters. A select group of students from The Art Institute will also participate in the event by assisting with projects under the guidance of the professional volunteers. The students will garner credible experience and materials for their developing portfolios.
