The financial sector in Quebec and around the world is constantly evolving. The regulatory framework is therefore of crucial importance for ensuring the protection of consumers and fostering the development of the financial markets.

The Autorite des marches financiers (AMF) and the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) are the agencies that regulate and oversee the financial sectors in Quebec and Ontario respectively. They collaborate closely with Canadian and international bodies, including the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA). This collaboration enables them to benefit from actions taken nationally and internationally for the purpose of harmonizing regulations.

Mr. St-Gelais, who is also the CSA Chair, will provide an overview of activities and initiatives carried out by the CSA, which is the council of the securities regulators of Canada's provinces and territories. Its mission is to co-ordinate and harmonize regulation for the Canadian capital markets. As well, Mr. Wilson will speak more specifically about CSA initiatives regarding governance, investment fund governance and internal controls over financial reporting.

We look forward to welcoming you at what will no doubt be a stimulating conference lunch.
