The Canadian Dental Hygienists Association Celebrates National Oral Health Month

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - April 3, 2006) - In celebration of National Oral Health Month, the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association (CDHA) brings you information on how mouthguards can make sports safer by preventing oral injuries. Read the CDHA position paper Putting More Bite into Injury Prevention at http://www.cdha.ca/pdf/Mouthguard%20Position%202005.pdf

Prepare now for those summer sports by asking your dental hygienist to make a properly fitted mouthguard suited specifically for your mouth. Also, read an information sheet on Mouthguard Care and Use located at: http://www.cdha.ca/content/oralcare_centre/oralcare_centre.asp

National Oral Health Month is also a perfect time to remember that good oral health is good health. Regular brushing, flossing, a healthy diet, and visits to your dental hygienist contribute to good general health.
