First-ever national swimming competition at new state-of-the-art aquatic center

POINTE-CLAIRE, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - July 13, 2011) - The Pointe-Claire Swim Club (PCSC) is proud to be hosting the 2011 Canadian Summer National Championships in association with Swimming Natation Canada (SNC). The event will be held from July 21 to July 24, 2011 at the new state-of-the-art Pointe-Claire Aquatic Center in Pointe-Claire, Québec. We expect approximately 600 swimmers, an exceptionally high number have qualified for this event this year.

Swimming Canada's flagship event of the summer, the Canadian Summer Nationals brings together Canada's top swimmers from across the country for their chance to race against the best in the country. At this meet swimmers will also be selected to represent Canada at the 2011 Pan American Games to be held in October in Guadalajara, Mexico. In addition, the results of this meet can be used to qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England. SwimCam Web TV will be broadcasting the finals as a webcast. The event is co-organized with the Pointe-Claire Swim Club - the top fifth swim club in Canada. "Twenty senior national swimmers from PCSC will be competing at this meet" said Head Coach, Ryan Mallette, "Having that many swimmers qualify for such a national event is testament to the caliber and depth of talent of our team."
