The Fairmont San Jose Hotel Appoints Kelley Cosgrove as General Manager

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - Jan 18, 2012) - The Fairmont San Jose, an 805-room luxury hotel in the heart of Silicon Valley, proudly announces Kelley Cosgrove as its new General Manager. Cosgrove, who after five years of working at The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa Resort, officially began her new appointment on the first of December 2011.

During her tenure at The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, the hotel garnered a number of awards and accolades, including a coveted Michelin star for the resort's signature dining room, Santé. Prior to this post, Cosgrove spent a number of years at The Fairmont Kea Lani in Maui, which while under her leadership, received the "Hotel of the Year" award.

Cosgrove holds a degree in Health Sciences from Champlain College. She has also completed the Advanced Management Program for the Hospitality Industry at the University of Guelph. Prior to joining Fairmont, she began her career in the hospitality industry with Westin Hotels.

In 1987, Cosgrove held the position of Front Office Manager at The Fairmont Chateau Laurier in Canada. Two years later she joined the opening team of The Fairmont Chateau Whistler. During this five year appointment, she held progressive senior positions. Cosgrove was appointed to Rooms Division Director at Toronto's Royal York in 1994, followed by a promotion to the post of Director of Operations at the Fairmont Waterfront, Vancouver, B.C. in 1997. Her career further advanced in 1998 when she earned her title as Operations Director at Fairmont's Hotel Vancouver, followed by the position of Hotel Manager. In 2001, she served as the Pre-Opening Manager at The Fairmont Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

In her new position at this luxury San Jose hotel, Cosgrove will manage a team of over 350 colleagues. She plans to focus on further supporting city-wide initiatives for environmental improvements, driving efforts to strengthen arts and cultural activities in downtown, and partnering with various organizations to further elevate San Jose as a premiere business hub of Northern California.

Additionally, Cosgrove will be accompanied by her loyal canine companion Zeus. Together they will work on the re-launch of this San Jose hotel's Pet Program in 2012.
