The Farha Foundation Invites you to Create the Perfect new Year's Elixir

Farha Shares Unique Cocktails for the Holiday Season, in Celebration of MASKARADE 2014: Elixir

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Dec. 18, 2013) - The Farha Foundation, Quebec's leading HIV/AIDS fundraising organization, unveils beautiful and delicious cocktail recipes to create that perfect New Year's Eve elixir, in celebration of the Holiday season. The Foundation will release its own exclusive elixir, sponsored by Pur Vodka, at MASKARADE 2014. This masked gala-an annual fundraising event that aims to sensitize the community towards HIV/AIDS and support those affected by the terrible disease-takes place on February 13, 2014 at Marché Bonsecours in Old Montreal.

"We are honoured to be a part of this magnificent event, and we support leading the change, hoping to one day eradicate HIV/AIDS," says Allie Angrave, head catering coordinator at Montreal Gourmet. "We are very excited to unveil the exclusive cocktail we have prepared for MASKARADE 2014: Elixir. You might see some cocktail trends in our elixir this year including, twists on classic drinks, carbonated cocktails, and vegetable-infused concoctions."

During the lead-up to the event, the Foundation is sharing some cocktail recipes that will create the perfect elixir to ring in the New Year with:

Minty Margarita: this tart and refreshing Mexican cocktail uses a combination of Tequila, lime, and a mint sprig. Start with 1.5 oz. of Tequila; add 2 oz. of squeezed lime juice, combined with 1 fresh mint sprig and crushed ice. Serve in a chilled mug with a salt-dipped rim and a lime wedge.

Twisted Mimosa: a twist on the classic, this cocktail combines sweet and bitter flavours. Mix 2 oz. of Champagne with 1 oz. of Cointreau and 2 oz. of orange juice; top off with a splash of grapefruit juice and soda water. Serve in a large Champagne glass with a sugar rim.

Beet It: sticking with the colours of MASKARADE 2014, this elixir combines fresh beet juice with sweet pomegranate flavour. Mix 3 oz. of fresh beet juice with 1 oz. of pomegranate liquor and 1 oz. of Vodka; finish with splash of sprite. Serve in a pint glass with a lemon slice.

The Farha Foundation wishes everyone a happy and safe holiday season, and hopes to see new faces at MASKARADE 2014 with an exclusive elixir in their hands. Tickets are $300 per person, and all proceeds will go towards prevention, education and support for those who are affected by HIV/AIDS in Quebec.
