The Farha Foundation Unveils the 15th Edition of its Annual MASKARADE ELIXIR

MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - Jan. 22, 2014) - The Farha Foundation, Quebec's leading HIV/AIDS fundraising organization, is pleased to unveil the 15th edition of its annual MASKARADE gala. This glamorous evening will be held at the Marché Bonsecours in Old Montreal on February 13, 2014. This year's theme ELIXIR aims to create magical solidarity, like a potion. The Farha Foundation has set a fundraising goal of $300,000, to support prevention and education initiatives in Quebec in hopes that one day we will eradicate HIV/AIDS.

Join MASKARADE's Honorary President Linda Smith for an unforgettable evening with masters of ceremonies Sonia Benezra, Canadian TV and radio personality, and Alexandre Despatie, Canadian Olympic diver and cohost of Breakfast Television Montreal. Performances include singer Martha Wash, a choreographed show created specifically for MASKARADE 2014 by Scott Fordham and the musical styling of Quebec's leading DJ, Sandy Duperval. Guests wishing to be adventurous are welcome to taste ELIXIR cocktails exclusively made for MASKARADE 2014.

"We are very thankful for the support we've received for MASKARADE 2014 and look forward to an evening that will inspire all those in attendance," said Linda Farha, volunteer president and spokesperson of the Farha Foundation. "AIDS has taken the lives of over 35 million people, including my brother Ron who died more than 20 years ago. It is with the ongoing support of our generous contributors that we can help those living with the disease face the daily stigmatization and complications associated with this preventable illness."

"I am very honoured to have been asked to preside over the Farha Foundation's prestigious MASKARADE gala. I have seen many people suffer from the loss of a loved one to AIDS, and I hope that this year's magical theme inspires all guests to spread the message of hope that one day a cure for this terrible disease will be found," said Linda Smith, Honorary President of MASKARADE 2014.

The event will start with a cocktail at 6:30 p.m., followed by a silent auction, a gourmet dinner, served by Ristorante BEATRICE and dancing all night long. Silent auction items include a Nespresso coffee machine, Rockland Shopping Centre gift certificates, a MAC Cosmetics gift box, dinner at Café Ferreira, a Simon Chang laptop satchel, a $500 JoshuaDAVID boutique gift card and many more unique items.

Those interested in purchasing tickets or making a donation are invited to visit the official gala website at MASKARADE2014.com. For each $300 ticket purchased, a $100 tax receipt will be issued. All event profits will go to the Farha Foundation.
