The Farha Foundation's 9th Edition of Maskarade, a Tidal Wave Success!

330 Guests and Almost $250,000 raised for the fight against AIDS!

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 26, 2008) - The Farha Foundation, Quebec's leading AIDS fundraising organization committed to helping men, women, and children living with HIV and AIDS, held its 9th annual gala evening, Maskarade, on February 21st. The event, themed Love Boat, was met with a sensational tidal wave of success!

Some 330 of Montreal's finest were at the Marche Bonsecours, where guests alternated between the Martini and Preseco bar, put chips down at the charity casino tables and perused high-end items on silent auction before sitting down to a 4-course culinary feast served by BICE Restaurant. Andrew Carter welcomed guests with enthusiasm, raffling off everything from a snowboard, to a Tremblant weekend getaway. Ross Paperman brought energy and competition to a live auction that offered Celine Dion and Spice Girl tickets as well as a Habs night at the Bell Centre complete with Zamboni ride! The evening's musical line-up of the Lambert Chan Duo, Florence K and the 9-piece variety band The Directors, lead by Randi Katz and Tony Picciuto, brought the crowd to its feet in revelry. Several guests left with fabulous surprises including the evening's door prize, a return flight for two to Paris - the city of light!

Guests were touched by a video compilation featuring the Farha Foundation's Founder, Ron Farha, discussing the goals and aspirations of the Foundation. Honorary President of the gala, Mark Bruneau, was represented by his sister who announced that her brother had arranged a bequest of $1M donation to the Farha Foundation.

This annual event assists the Farha Foundation in helping the 20,000 men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS in Quebec.

The Farha Foundation wishes to thank everyone who attended as well as all those who contributed to the evening's success!
