THE FLAMING LIPS Receive Grammy Nomination!

BURBANK, CA--(Marketwire - December 11, 2007) - The nominees for the 50th Annual Grammy Awards were announced this past week in Los Angeles and once again THE FLAMING LIPS have been nominated. This year's nomination is in a new category for the band; "Best Surround Sound Album" for their current Warner Bros. Records album, "At War With The Mystics," (David Fridmann and THE FLAMING LIPS producers). This marks the band's 6th nomination overall since 2002.

The Lips won their first Grammy in 2003 for "Best Rock Instrumental Performance" for the track "Approaching Pavonis Mons By Balloon (Utopia Plantia)" from their gold-certified album, "Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots."

In 2006, the Lips were nominated in three categories and won two awards; "Best Rock Instrumental Performance" for the track "The Wizard Turns On..." from "At War With The Mystics," and "Best Engineered Album Non-Classical," also from "At War With The Mystics."

In other Lips news, THE FLAMING LIPS will play a special one-off show this New Year's Eve 2007/2008 in their hometown of Oklahoma City at the Cox Convention Center. Tickets are on sale now.
