The Forward Wins a 2007 Davey Award for "Standout Excellence in Online News"

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - December 3, 2007) - The Forward, America's most influential Jewish newspaper, has received a Silver medal in the 2007 Davey Awards Competition for "standout excellence in its online news and information Web site," (

The Davey Awards honors outstanding ideas, intelligence and out-of-the-box thinking, not a "Giant's" bankroll, and are presented annually by the International Academy of Visual Arts. David defeated Goliath with a big idea and a little rock -- what small firms endeavor to accomplish every day.

The competition, which received over 4,000 entries worldwide, is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a "Who's Who" of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms.

"In a very short time, we have built a 'world-class' site that is now recognized globally as a model for the 'balance of content and functionality' in news delivery via the web," said David Drimer, associate publisher of The Forward. "Our latest accolade proves that we are truly an online publishing 'Davey' vanquishing major media 'Goliaths.'"

The Forward has recently received numerous industry accolades, including awards from the Web Marketing Association, Interactive Media Association, and most recently, the Independent Press Association.
