The Gift Of Pizza: Pizza Pizza Launches Its First-Ever Club Card

Pizza Pizza drew an "ace" from its deck today with the introduction of a Club Card destined to be a winner for the consumer and company alike.

The Club Card, whose launch coincides with Pizza Pizza's month-long celebration of the centennial anniversary of pizza's official arrival in North America, is a gift card pre-loaded in neighbourhood Pizza Pizza restaurants, in increments ranging from $5 to a maximum of $50. Club Card members can take advantage of exclusive offers and incentives, including a free slice of pizza if they register their Club Card online or at a toll-free number within seven days of their first card-loading. Members will also be eligible for weekly prize draws.

"From the consumer standpoint, it is a convenient and secure way to give the gift of pizza, either to yourself, members of your family or friends and acquaintances," said Pat Finelli, Vice-President of Marketing for Pizza Pizza. "From Pizza Pizza's perspective, the Club Card plays an essential role in retaining our existing customers and gaining new ones - an important element in our business. That is why we view the introduction of the Club Card as a win-win situation."

Registering the Club Card online - which a member can do with a minimum loading of $10 - enters the PIN number into a security-controlled data bank. If a Club Card is lost or stolen, the card-holder can report the loss, a replacement card will be issued and the balance of money on the original card will be transferred to the new account.

Mr. Finelli said it is fitting that Pizza Pizza is introducing its Club Card at a time when pizza's North American centennial is being marked. "As the pizza has evolved, so too has Canadians' love affair with pizza," he stated. "It has become a popular food for all occasions, whether they are family or individually oriented, and we hope the convenience of the Club Card will make the pizza-eating experience even more enjoyable."
