The Government of Canada Supports C2 Montreal


MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - May 25, 2016) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

The Honourable Bardish Chagger, Minister of Small Business and Tourism, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, announced today that the organization C2 Montréal is receiving $1.5 million in financial assistance to hold its annual international business and creativity conference in business circles in 2016 and 2017.

That financial assistance is divided into two equal parts, namely $750,000 per year. It is awarded in the form of a non-repayable contribution under CED's Quebec Economic Development Program. C2 Montréal, the non-profit organization founded by Sid Lee and the Cirque du Soleil, draws on the Montreal business community, including entrepreneurs, artists as well as foundations and organizations that support entrepreneurship, innovation and the social economy.

CED is one of the six regional development agencies under the responsibility of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development.
