The Government of Canada supports the 3rd International Summit of Cooperatives

Some 2,800 participants from 116 countries are in Quebec City to reflect on Cooperatives' Power to Act


QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 11, 2016) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
Tourism, one of the most rapidly developing industries in the world, provides an excellent opportunity for economic growth in Canada. The Government of Canada is proud to support events such as the Summit of Cooperatives, which generate significant economic benefits.

Acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, announced that the 2016 International Summit of Cooperatives is being granted $1,000,000 in financial assistance in the form of a non-repayable contribution. The funding is being awarded under CED's Quebec Economic Development Program (QEDP) and focuses on promotional activities outside of Quebec, logistics and technical services.
