The Graffiti Run 5K Returns to St. Louis

"The Colorful 5K" Will Not Only Entertain Runners With New Improvements, It Will Also Help Complete One Runner's Weight Loss Dream

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwired - March 10, 2015) - The Graffiti Run, which covers participants in color powder, will make another appearance in St Louis, this time in Gateway Motorsports Park, on Sunday, March 15th. The 5K run, which has inspired at least one runner's weight loss journey, promises to make new improvements for 2015.

How The Graffiti Run Works

Participants start off the race in white attire, and are free to run, walk, or dance through the track, as it is not a timed race. Along the way, they will encounter four color zones where volunteers throw just about as much color powder as they can on them. After crossing the finish line, runners will literally have a blast with throwing colors and the event's signature CO2-powered Color Cannons at the Graffiti Party.

Fans of The Graffiti Run across America have known and loved the event's fun, colorful routine for the past several years, but The Graffiti Run intends to make this year's events even more special for the runners.

2015: The Year Of Revealing Rainbows

The Graffiti Run will make 2015 their best year yet with the new "2015 Prism Tour". Some of this year's improvements will include:

  • Color zones that play music
  • Up to four of the run's signature Color Cannons
  • Giant decorative inflatable arches that runners will go under
  • New apparel
  • More food trucks

With all this and more in mind, The Graffiti Run intends to reveal the individual colors that make up the whole experience.

Graffiti Run Helps One St. Louis Runner Begin Big Weight Loss Journey

The Graffiti Run is not just about getting colored and having a blast -- it's also an opportunity to change people's lives. After participating in last year's Graffiti Run in St. Louis, Helen and her older sister and personal trainer Evie were inspired to run more 5K events throughout the year. What began as a simple colorful 5K ended up being the beginning of a phenomenal journey of weight loss for Helen.

Evie stated that the two got started a year ago by volunteering for one of The Graffiti Run's color zones "...and then soon we were both running in several other 5K events." Evie proclaims that their return to this year's Graffiti Run "will mark an emotional and significant milestone in [Helen's] weight loss journey, bringing full circle her year of remarkable success." Thanks to the Graffiti Run which combines the benefits of fitness with colorful family fun, two sisters have discovered a newfound love for the sport of running. The 5K run hopes to inspire similar stories in its next event and future ones as it gives participants both color -- and hope.
