The Heartland Poker League Arrives at Greektown Casino

DETROIT, MI--(Marketwire - May 9, 2008) - Greektown Casino in downtown Detroit, Michigan is pleased to announce the Heartland Poker League, the first national poker league for the casino player. Greektown will be running two leagues. Sunday League will be every Sunday at 7pm. Monday League will be in the morning at 11am. Buy-in for both leagues is $60+$15, with 100% of prize pool being paid out at each tournament.

The Spring Season Champion for each League will win a seat at the Heartland Poker Tour televised event at Grand Casino Mille Lacs over the weekend of September 19, 2008. The prize package also includes two nights hotel lodging and is valued at $2,200. Top point winners for May and June from each League will win qualifier seats to any Heartland Poker Tour event in the country, valued at $450. The Spring Season National Points Champion from all the participating casinos will win a trip for two on Card Player Cruises to the Mexican Riviera from November 29 - December 6, 2008. Each cruise package includes a room for two and $500 in travel money.

The Heartland Poker League is the first National poker league for the casino player. Participating casinos run weekly tournaments with buy-ins from $50-$100 and the results are tracked on the Heartland Poker League Web site. Players compete locally and nationally for prizes. This year, tournaments will be held at casinos in eight states across the country.

Greektown Casino will also be hosting their first ever Heartland Poker Tour televised event May 31 - June 8, 2008. $80 single table satellites started May 5th and will run every day until June 4th.
