The Honourable Ed Fast to Address Economic Club

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 27, 2012) - Our country's prosperity is linked to reaching beyond our borders for economic opportunities that serve to grow Canada's trade and investment. Trade has long been a powerful engine for Canada's economy. It is even more so in these globally challenging economic times.

There is no larger integrated economy in the world than the European Union with over 500 million consumers and a GDP of over $18 trillion. Accordingly, there is no more important Canadian trade negotiating priority today than the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA).

Minister Fast will talk about how a Canada-EU trade agreement will benefit hardworking Canadians in every region of our country and help create jobs, growth and long-term prosperity.
