The Keg Royalties Income Fund Posts Strong First Quarter Financial Results

Continued growth in all key areas

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - April 26, 2007) - The Keg Royalties Income Fund (the "Fund") (TSX:KEG.UN) has reported its financial results for the three months ended March 31, 2007. Gross sales and same stores sales reported by Keg Restaurants Ltd. ("KRL"), royalty income, earnings, and distributable cash all increased from the comparable period of the prior year.

As previously announced, gross sales reported by Keg restaurants in the Royalty Pool increased by $11,282,000 or 12.0% to $105,239,000 during the quarter. The increase in gross sales reflects the net impact of the addition of net new sales to the Royalty Pool at the beginning of the year and an increase in same store sales.

KRL's same store sales (sales of restaurants that operated during the entire period of both the current and prior years) increased by 8.1% in Canada and by 3.8% in the United States for the 13-week period ended April 1, 2007. Total consolidated same store sales increased by 7.6% for the 13-week period. For the first time since the Fund's inception in May 2002, the effect of the exchange rate between Canadian and U.S. dollars on the translation of the U.S. sales into their Canadian dollar equivalent was slightly positive.

Royalty income increased by $499,000 or 13.3% to $4,260,000 for the quarter as a result of the increase in gross sales.

Earnings increased by 6.1% to 32.8 cents/Fund unit from 30.9 cents/Fund unit during the same quarter of the prior year. Distributable cash available to pay distributions to Fund unitholders increased by 6.1% to 32.9 cents/Fund unit from 31.0 cents/Fund unit for the same quarter of the prior year.

"We are extremely pleased with the Fund's performance, particularly the increase in royalty income and its contribution to increasing both earnings and distributable cash," said David Aisenstat, President and CEO of Keg Restaurants Ltd. The Fund declared distributions of 19.5 cents/Fund unit during the quarter.
