The Knights of Columbus "Hold the Boot" for Muscular Dystrophy Canada

TIMMINS, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 7, 2011) - The annual Volunteer Boot Drive hosted by the Timmins Knights of Columbus will be taking place on Saturday, September 10th at the intersection of Main Avenue and Bruce Avenue. Knights of Columbus volunteers will be collecting funds from passing motorists between 8:00am and 4:00pm.

This year will mark the 11th year that the Timmins Knights of Columbus are holding the Boot Drive to raise funds to support those living with neuromuscular disorders. Funds raised will support Muscular Dystrophy Canada's essential mobility equipment program, various advocacy initiatives and of course fund research to one day find a cure for muscular dystrophy.

Since 1954, Muscular Dystrophy Canada has been committed to enhancing the lives of those affected with neuromuscular disorders by continually working to provide ongoing support and resources while relentlessly searching for a cure through well funded research. The organization represents more than 150 neuromuscular disorders and provides information, vital services and hope to 50,000 Canadians.

Please come support your local volunteers. With your help, we can Make Muscles Move!
