The Kyle Petty Charity Ride Stops at Hotels in Dallas/Ft. Worth

Riders Raise Money for Children With Chronic or Life-Threatening Illnesses

FORT WORTH, TX--(Marketwire - Apr 13, 2012) - If fast rides and good causes are on your list of favorite things, you don't want to miss the exciting finish of the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America at the Texas Motor Speedway, located next to the Dallas/Fort Worth Marriott Hotel & Golf Club at Champions Circle. Guests of this resort in Dallas/Fort Worth area won't miss a moment of the action when they stay at this conveniently located hotel.

The motorcycle ride kicks off April 28, 2012, in Napa, Calif, and travels more than 2,500 miles to the finish line at the Texas Motor Speedway, next door to this Dallas/Fort Worth resort. The charity ride, in its 18th year, will bring together more than 175 riders to raise money for Victory Junction, a camp program that benefits kids with chronic or life-threatening illnesses. The race was started by former NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Kyle Petty, who lost his own son, Adam.

"We started this ride as a small group of friends just riding from track to track," Petty says. "It's amazing to see how this event has grown." The ride has raised more than $14.5 million since 1995, and this year's event will feature returning and new riders, including Texas Motor Speedway president and general manager Eddie Gossage, two-time Daytona 500 winner Matt Kenseth, NASCAR legend Harry Gant, former NBA star and NASCAR team owner Brad Daugherty and former NFL great and Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker.

"The Kyle Petty Charity Ride makes a real difference in children's lives," Walker, who's participating in his seventh race, says. "It's not only the kids we visit with along the route, it's the donations that help sponsor thousands of trips to Victory Junction that make this ride so special."

The ride, finishing near this Fort Worth area hotel, will include new stops along the route, passing through California's redwood forests, along both The Million Dollar Highway and The Loneliest Road in America and making overnight visits in a number of cities.
