The Lightstone Group Strengthens Its Securities Division With Six Key Appointments


NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Jul 12, 2012) - The Lightstone Group, a national real estate developer, announced today the expansion of its Securities Division with six key appointments bolstering the firm's capabilities and enhancing the Division.

Greg McGowan joins Lightstone with more than twenty years' experience as an advisor and wholesaler with various firms including AXA Distributors, Lincoln Financial and Lehman Brothers. Previously, Greg served as Senior Vice President at Thompson National Properties where he successfully marketed Strategic Retail Trust products to independent financial planners in the Northeast and Eastern Florida. He also served as Regional Vice President at KBS Capital Markets Group where he opened more than 110 accounts over a two year period. Greg is a graduate of The University of Rhode Island. 

Brendan McLaughlin has more than twenty years' experience in the financial services industry working with financial advisors and high net-worth individuals. Previously, Brendan served as National Director of Business Development and Senior Regional Vice President at several of the industries' top REIT, Mutual Fund and Annuity/Life Insurance companies.

Matt Peoples joins Lightstone with fifteen years' experience managing national accounts within the wire as well as bank and independent planner channels. He has held a variety of roles within sales administration and management. Matt holds a BA from West Virginia University. 

Josh Rubinger has more than ten years' experience building relationships with broker-dealer executives and securing sales agreements. Prior to joining Lightstone, Josh served as Senior Vice President of National Accounts at Thompson National Properties. He also served as Relationship Manager at Oppenheimer Funds, Inc, where he cultivated relationships and effectively positioned Oppenheimer's various products to financial institutions and advisor firms. Earlier in his career, Josh held positions at Columbia Funds and Global Prior Art. Josh earned a BA from Hamilton College in New York. At Lightstone, Josh will be responsible for expanding relationships and business development throughout the broker-dealer community.

John Coon joins Lightstone with half a decade of financial services experience ranging from being a top wholesaler, sales desk manager, and former investor services representative for Thompson National Properties based in Irvine, California. John is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles.

Kimberly Barry Duran was previously the director of marketing and education at Thompson National Properties, supervising all marketing related activities for the firm. Previously, Kimberly worked as a financial advisor for Perennial Wealth Management where she focused on educating clients on real estate and other alternative investment opportunities. At Lightstone, Kimberly will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all corporate and sales related marketing activities including: strategic planning, brand management, creative design and web development.
