Popular Fast Casual Restaurant Adds Good-for-You, 100 Percent All-Natural Burger Melts and Chicken Melts to Grilled Cheese Offerings

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Nov 12, 2014) - THE MELT, a growing chain of fast casual eateries, today announced the addition of burger melts, chicken melts, russet potato fries and creamy mac & cheese, adding to the menu's already expansive grilled cheese melt offerings. The new, creatively designed menu items, which will be available at all of The Melt stores by Thanksgiving, exemplify the company's founding commitment to bring wholesome, fresh, 100 percent all-natural ingredients to everyday American classics.

Looking to forever change the category, The Melt's culinary team threw the traditional burger build out the window and aimed to create the best tasting burger that was also good for you. The innovative ground-up build creates the perfect first bite of a flavorful juicy burger followed by a cooling effect from the fresh shredded lettuce tossed in house-made Melt Sauce. The company's signature celebration of cheese can also be found throughout all the new menu items right down to melted cheese on both sides of the bun to create a playful and delicious "cheese smile" effect.

The unique melts are handcrafted and made-to-order using only the highest caliber ingredients usually reserved for full-service restaurants: a custom blend of Angus and Wagyu beef, all-natural chicken breast, an array of high-quality real aged cheeses, artisan breads and buns, and farm fresh produce -- collectively creating the ultimate melt flavor profile. Fresh epicurean toppings include: charred jalapenos, grilled onions, farm-fresh avocados and tomatoes, house-pickled onions and nitrate-free bacon.

The Melt's new menu items include; an Original burger melt, spicy Mission burger melt, Double Bacon BBQ burger melt, a Caesar spinach Bird chicken melt, 'Shroom chicken melt, Buffalo chicken melt and a Truffle grilled cheese melt. New side offerings include; three cheese Trio macaroni & cheese, a T-Mac truffle fontina macaroni & cheese, Naked fries with Melt Spice and Well Dressed fries with aged cheeses, crumbled bacon and crispy onions.

In addition to The Melt's local craft beer selection, the company worked closely with an award winning sommelier to carefully curate a new wine program offering food-friendly popular varietals that best pair with the new menu including: Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Sauvignon and a red blend from popular winemakers such as Beringer, Coppola, Justin, Robert Mondavi, Santa Margherita and more.
