WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - Apr 18, 2013) - The Board of Directors ("Board") of The Mexico Fund, Inc. (NYSE: MXF) ("the Fund") announced today that the Fund has filed a Registration Statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission under the Securities Act of 1933 in order to be able to offer, from time to time and subject to market conditions, its shares of common stock at a price equal to or greater than the Fund's net asset value per share at the time of the offer, exclusive of any underwriting commissions or discounts. The purpose of such offerings would be to raise cash in order to take advantage of attractive investment opportunities in the Mexican equity market. The Fund does not intend to offer its shares of common stock at a price below net asset value.
