The Miami New Construction Show Announces Partnership With Global Non-Profit TECHO

MIAMI, FL--(Marketwired - Jun 17, 2014) -  The Miami New Construction Show, taking place August 29 through 31 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, is pleased to announce its new non-profit partner, TECHO, a youth led non-profit organization aiming to overcome poverty in the low-income areas of Latin America and the Caribbean by building houses for those less fortunate. The show is expecting a turnout of more than 100 new developer projects from South Florida, close to 80 real estate-related professionals, and over 35,000 visitors from the United States, South America, Europe, and Canada.

"As the show continues to grow, we are excited to be partnering with a well-respected organization such as TECHO. The work that they do is remarkable and we are proud to have them onboard," said Anita Funtek, CEO of the Miami New Construction Show. "Our goal is to donate a portion of the proceeds from the show to TECHO to help further their work across Latin America."

TECHO volunteers work with communities to generate solutions to their own problems by educating citizens to become empowering leaders in the community. Members of the organization are convinced that poverty can be permanently eradicated if society as a whole recognizes poverty as a priority and actively works toward overcoming it. Since its beginning in Chile, followed by El Salvador and Peru, TECHO expanded and over 15 years has operated in 19 countries across Latin America including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela.
