Discover what it takes to be a health care hero at The Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences on May 28 during Doors Open Toronto.

We invite you to explore and learn about the history of health care and applied health education at The Michener Institute through our photography collection. Photography has always been an important part of Michener's archival process; our photo collection has over 10,000 images from 1960 to today. Through black & white and colour images, you will see a visual representation of the different ways health care, technology, and teaching methods have evolved over a 50 year period. Photos of our retired equipment will be on display for visitors to see and compare to the newer models currently used for teaching. You will be amazed to see just how much modern technology has changed applied health education and practice in Canada!

Michener will also be hosting our annual Open House from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. during Doors Open, which will give visitors an opportunity to learn about current applied health education first hand through interactive demonstrations from all 10 of Michener's full-time programs. Current students and faculty will be on hand to answer all your applied health questions.
