The Montreal Alouettes Team-Up With Welcome Hall Mission for Thanksgiving Dinner

Players to serve traditional meals and kickoff the Hail Mary Game

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 12, 2015) - Players from the Montreal Alouettes return to Welcome Hall Mission this year to serve a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to over 300 of Montreal's homeless. For this festive evening, the Alouettes will trade their football uniforms for Welcome Hall Mission aprons. They will then personally serve meals and help put a big smile on the face of the less privileged.

This event will also be the opportunity to kickoff the Hail Mary Game. Players and men in transition from Welcome Hall Mission will team-up to play a friendly game in February just before Super Bowl 2016. Until then, the Alouettes players will offer training to participants in order to turn them into expert football players (almost).

"Men look forward to this annual event and we appreciate the commitment of the Alouettes who never hesitate to take part in these community events," commented Cyril Morgan, CEO of Welcome Hall Mission, "The friendly game will be a great way to extend the participation of the Alouettes with our organization and give a motivating goal to men who have not often had it easy. "

This year Nicolas Boulay #52, JC Beaulieu #46, Dominique Ellis #38, Brandon Rutley #33, Jonathan Crompton #18, Tanner Marsh #4, Kyries Hebert #34, Stefan Logan #0, Nik Lewis #8, Sam Giguere #15 and Brian Brikowski #45 will be honoured to serve a hearty traditional Thanksgiving meal and give messages of hope to hundreds of men. Live music will be provided by Rosanna Tomiuk and decor by Vanessa D'Souza of Evacasta.

Thanksgiving is also the beginning of #SeasonOfGiving at Welcome Hall Mission. With the cold season fast approaching, hunger and homelessness continue to pose significant problems in Montreal. The fundraiser for meals at $2.97 can offer a full meal and bring a little happiness to people who really need it.
