The Montreal Alouettes/Training Camp: Day 15

SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - June 12, 2005) - The Alouettes continued training camp on the Campus du Fort Saint-Jean today. Here's a look at Day 15 of practice:

Another hot one

The Alouettes practiced once again in hot and humid conditions for more than two hours.

Girard shines

Receiver Sylvain Girard exploited his blazing speed today, making a couple of nice catches in stride.

McDonald and Sejour gone

Veterans Darnell McDonald and Serge Sejour did not take part in practice; they have both been released.

Other cuts
Also released today were receivers Shaun Diner and Javarus Dudley, and defensive back Brandon Little.

Next cuts

The Alouettes must reduce their roster to 40 players (plus practice roster and injured players) by 3 p.m. this June 18.

Bryan Chiu may miss Thursday's game

Centre Bryan Chiu may miss Thursday's game for personal reasons. Should this happen, Paul Lambert and Paul Archer will play in his position while Aaron Fiacconi would take over at guard.

According to Coach Matthews

"He was a force at the point of attack," said Coach Matthews about defensive lineman John Nix's performance in last Thursday's game.

A visitor

Former Alouettes linebacker Philippe Girard came to watch practice today. He now works for Groupe TVA Publications and continues his involvement in the community.

Back from Green Bay

R.J. James, son of Equipment Manager Ronnie James, is back in town after a time at the Green Bay Packers' mini-camp, where his uncle Gordon Batty manages the Packers' equipment. "I had a great experience," said R.J.

Tomorrow's schedule

The Alouettes will practice at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Please contact the communications department to confirm practice location.
