The Montreal Burlesque Festival Heats Up October Nights at Club Soda

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Sept. 26, 2016) - The temperature is rising as we get closer to the Montreal Burlesque Festival! From October 13 to 15, burlesque royalty will heat up the nights, razzle dazzle and mercilessly tease fans of the art of seduction. The 8^th edition of the festival is jam-packed with a star-studded program, featuring some of the most internationally renowned burlesque stars, swinging music, variety acts and seductive workshops. As always, passionate spectators are sure to add charm and sizzle by attending the shows with their loved ones, clad in their finest cocktail vintage-inspired attire.

Burlesque Hall of Fame King of Burlesque, Russell Bruner, will headline each night along with a constellation of outrageously gorgeous burlesque goddesses, including MisRed Delicious, the producer of the New Zealand Burlesque Festival; the all-American, curvy chain-studded Minnie Tonka; the Asian sexsation, Calamity Chang; the curvaceous golden glamazon, Sydni Deveraux; New Orleans' queen of burlesque, the fiery Medianoche; and Montreal's very own international burlesque star, Scarlett James.

These world-class legends will share the stage with the most titillating cast of local Quebec burlesque bombshells ever assembled, including Lady Josephine, Audrey Ivory, Randi Rouge, Mimie Cherry, Foxy Lexxi and many more. The hilarious and irreverent Benjamin Marquis, appropriately known to fans as Captain Burlesque, will MC throughout the festival and have audiences in stitches between numbers. To add daredevil flair to these evenings, femme fatale circus performers, including the mighty Silky Steel, Marianne Trenka and Nicole Burgio, will leave spectators breathless with their acrobatic feats.

The Montreal Burlesque festival and Arabesque Burlesque join forces to offer a series of devilishly fun burlesque workshops throughout the weekend. Scarlett James, a worldwide ambassador of Montreal and its burlesque art, is the headliner in the highly anticipated return of the revamped live musical Cabaret Burlesque, at the Cabaret du Casino de Montreal. Scarlett, who flies from Paris to Shanghai, London, Brazil, Japan and a myriad of countries in between, lives and breathes burlesque culture on and off the stage.

Born in Canada, she grew up in France, dreaming of a life filled with the artistry and glamour inspired by the larger-than-life stars of Hollywood's Golden Age. She returned to Montreal and became a burlesque pioneer, creating intricate costumes and inventive props for her flamboyant acts. Scarlett James will also appear in the highly anticipated return of the revamped live musical Cabaret Burlesque, at the Cabaret du Casino, from October 6 to November 12, 2016. The satirical and zany extravaganza will feature a cast of 23 performers, dancers, aerialists and soulful singers in wildly entertaining choreographies to the beat of classic and modern cabaret hits.
