The Movie Game Inc.: The Quest for the Da Vinci of Our Times Kicks Off at CNE

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 30, 2005) -

The Da Vinci Quest board game and Globus sponsors a GTA-wide search for Toronto's modern Da Vinci and the winners of a trip to Paris, France

The Movie Game Inc., makers of the new Da Vinci Quest board game and Da Vinci Quest Mystery Puzzle, are pleased to announce the official launch of The Quest for Da Vinci at the Canadian National Exhibition today.

A polling booth set up inside the Traveling with Da Vinci exhibit at the CNE is discovering who visitors to the Ex believe has the spark of genius in the Toronto region. The Da Vinci of our times can be any inspiring personality connected with our city - an artist, scientist, inventor, musician, political or community leader, teacher, actor, athlete, entrepreneur or activist, from Ed Mirvish to Frank Gehry to Moses Znaimer.

"While Leonardo has become renowned as the painter of the Mona Lisa, he was also a scientist, a thinker, an inventor, a teacher and many other things - essentially a true Renaissance Man whose influence has lasted through the centuries," says Sandy Cherry, President of The Movie Game Inc.

"We're asking people to tell us who is our modern day Da Vinci. It should be someone who is forward-thinking and whose impact on our city will be a lasting one."

The ballot also includes a poll on how people view the controversies in books like Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code, which has sold 29 million copies to date and is currently filming in France. Do Torontonians believe Jesus and Mary Magdelene had a child or that geniuses like Leonardo belonged to secret societies?

The ballots will be counted by the end of the CNE and the Da Vinci of our time and the results of the opinion poll will be announced on the final day.

At the same time, two lucky winners will be randomly chosen from the ballots to win an eight-day trip to Paris, France to embark on their own Quest for Da Vinci courtesy of Globus. The prize will include a return flight to Paris, first class accommodations at the Novotel Paris Tour Eiffel, sightseeing tours such as a Seine river cruise and, of course, a visit to the Louvre to view Da Vinci's Mona Lisa.
