The MS Golf Challenge: $380,000 Raised to End Multiple Sclerosis

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - July 10, 2008) - On Monday, June 30, 2008, 76 golfers roamed the greens of the Granby Saint-Paul and Chateau Bromont golf clubs for the 13th edition of the MS Golf Challenge. Their goal: play 100 holes of golf in a single day for the benefit of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Quebec Division. Their efforts produced excellent results: they raised $380,000 for research and services for people with MS and their families. Since its launch in 1996, the MS Golf Challenge has raised more than $2,115,000.

The challenge: 100 holes of golf in one day!

To mark the occasion, Jocelyne Cazin, journalist, host and lecturer, and spokesperson of the MS Golf Challenge for the fourth year in a row; Richard de Carufel, President of the MUC Police COOP and honorary co-chair of the event for eight years now; and Rodger Brulotte, journalist and honorary co-chair for four years, joined the many golfers who took up the challenge.

Putting an end to MS

Multiple sclerosis is the most widespread neurological disease among young adults in Canada. It primarily affects people between the ages of 15 and 40; the average age at diagnosis is 28, exactly the time when many people are thinking of starting a family and/or focusing on their career.
