The MS Golf Challenge: Play 100 Holes of Golf to Beat MS!

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - June 6, 2006) - On Monday, July 3, 2006, eighty golfers will get together at the Granby St-Paul Golf Club for the 11th edition of the MS Golf Challenge, for the benefit of the Quebec Division of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. In order to perform this amazing deed of playing 100 holes of golf in one day, the eighty-odd golf buffs will tee off at 6:30 a.m. and hit golf balls until dusk.

Jocelyne Cazin, journalist and spokesperson for the MS Golf Challenge for her second year, Richard de Carufel, president of the MUC Police COOP and honorary cochair of the event for six years, and Rodger Brulotte, journalist and honorary cochair, will also be on hand to try to perform this exploit.

The package includes dinner and accommodations at the Hotel Le Castel de l'Estrie the night before, use of the course for a whole day, a golf cart, snacks, meals and fabulous prizes, in an atmosphere of friendly competition. All golfers must raise a minimum of $2,500.

Taking part in the MS Golf Challenge means contributing to ongoing research into multiple sclerosis and helping the approximately between 55,000 and 75,000 Canadians, including between 13,000 and 18,000 Quebecers, with MS. Since 1996, this event has raised over $1,140,000. This year's objective is set at $250,000. MS is the most widespread neurological disease among young adults in Canada. It primarily affects people aged 15 to 40 years old.
