The Music Producer Joins Forces With G.R.E.A.T. Program to Reduce Gang Activity

JERSEY CITY, NJ--(Marketwire - February 11, 2010) - Whitney Belker-Vauvelle, CEO of The Music Producer, attended the graduation of 400 students in New Jersey that successfully completed the Gang Resistance Education And Training (G.R.E.A.T.) Program sponsored by The United States Department of Justice. Belker-Vauvelle is a youth advocate, who through much research knows, "music and sports are the two things that keep kids off the streets."

"The G.R.E.A.T. Program is a school-based, law enforcement officer-instructed classroom curriculum. The program's primary objective is prevention against delinquency, youth violence, and gang membership."

New Jersey Senator Sandra Cunningham said, "We talk about global terrorism yet it exists in our local neighborhoods. The first step to stop violence is to stop resisting diversity."

Susanne Roderick, Chief Inspector for the US Marshalls accountable for the G.R.E.A.T. Program, oversees the program in 7 cities in New Jersey and has worked to ensure every 4th grader completes the program. As a result the police have experienced a higher level of support from the community which attributes to decreasing gang violence by approximately 7% in the last 3 years.

U.S. Marshall Patrick Higgins said, "...reach the children with music that they can understand, you can get your message across." Founder and CEO of Smart Trax™ Live Show, Inc . David Musial provided positive music entertainment . Musial and Brady Cudmore composed the song for the event, "Be G.R.E.A.T.!" using The Music Producer 2.0 software.
